Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to tryout for the team?

  • There are no tryouts for the team, just come on down and your on the team.  We always need more depth and in some cases starters, so don't be afraid to come down to practice and give it a try.

I'm a freshman and am not sure how I will adjust to college. How can club football help in the transition?

  • Club Football teaches freshmen to be well balanced in their daily activities along with improved time management and organizational skills.  The commitment to the football team will not interfere with your studies but rather help you learn how to use your time wisely.

How much of a time commitment is required?

  • Practice is two hours everyday ONLY for the first two weeks of the season.  After the first two weeks, practices are between an hour and a half and two hours for three days and a two-hour walk through the day before the game.  The atmosphere at the average practice is much different than a high school football practice.  You need to experience it to see if you like it.

Is it expensive to play Club Football?

  • Club Football is the least expensive club at Marquette.  It generally costs around $125 depending on how many away games are scheduled for that given year.  Payment plans are worked out very easily as we understand that college students aren't exactly loaded with money.

What kind of teams does Marquette play?

  • Marquette plays Division III JV teams and other club teams from around the area.  The biggest game of the year is between cross-town rival UW-Milwaukee, also a club team, in the annual Brew City Classic.

What other benefits come with being a member of the club football team?

  • The club football team has recently added a community service program that promotes the well-rounded college experience.
