Special Message from Ryan Brummond

Back to Home

Fella's,

Hey my name is Ryan Brummond, most of you don't know me, a few might.  I played on the team from 1999-2003 and my little brother, Tyler, was on the team too from 2001-2005. Anyway, was wondering how the BCC turned out this year.  I remember when Andy White and I came up with the idea of playing a spring game against UWM in the winter of 2002-2003; one thing led to another and poof you have the BCC.  That keg means a lot, I hope your captains got a chance to sign it this year.

I'm over here in Iraq for the second time and wanted to let you all know that I check the website every week.  When we first started having a website I thought it was the greatest thing ever, and I want you all to know that it has come a long way since the Eteamz days.

You guys may not realize it, especially the rookies, but there are alot of alum out there who keep tabs on you.  When I was president I got probably an email a week from old guys just checking in.  Sad to think I have become one of them.

Anyway, keep your heads up guys this is not the first time MU has had a bad year.  Actually, there have only been (2) .500 seasons since 1980; 1984 and 2003.  I will tell you what I am sure Red, Major and White have told you already.  It takes one thing for this team to succeed and that is dedication.  Marquette has a more talented football pool than any other school you play, hands down.  Its up to you to find it, and get its ass down to the practice field, every day.  This team can be great, I was fortunate to be around when we won 4 games in one year, including shutting out St Norberts and beating North Central in double over time.  ITS UP TO YOU, TRUST ME ON THAT.  THE MORE YOU PUT IN, THE MORE YOU WILL GET OUT.   I miss you guys and would trade my right arm to play with you guys again.  Ol' #55 is up there watching, do him proud.

Semper Fi,
Ryan Brummond #25
